Description
Due to popular demand we have very limited stock of these rare heirloom seeds. This strain is available in our shop courtesy of Ace Seeds, the official reseller for the Indian Landrace Exchange. We would like to thank Ace Seeds for their kind collaboration.
Kerala Gold from Indian Landrace Exchange is an equatorial heirloom variety. It's said to have branched out from Idukki Gold, a pure equatorial marijuana landrace now extinct. Kerala is situated in the far south along the Malabar coast and has minimal change in daylight hours, as it is only 9° North from the equator. Kerala has a mild tropical-wet climate throughout the year.
Kerala Gold regular seeds can be grown easily at any time of the year in its place of origin, but January is usually seen as the most popular choice for harvesting. The humidity and amount of precipitations increases by 10-15% from April, gradually peaking at monsoon July-August. With the passing of the monsoon to the northern part of India, the humidity levels starts to go down and hit the lowest in January-February.
The plants are vigorous and have a tall, classical, equatorial Sativa structure. The first 5-7 weeks of flowering is spent in stretching and creating internodal space for flower bracts. The calyxes swell towards the very end of flowering and give of a yellowish/golden tint. The colour comes from the mainly amber trichome heads and ample coverage of unusually long dried stigmas wrapped around it.
Kerala Gold flowers 16- 20 weeks with moderate to high yields. The strain shows great resistance to mold, powdery mildew, and pests in general. Even when grown outside of its natural habitat (at latitudes as high as 43°N), Kerala Gold thrives and flowers properly within 16-20 weeks depending on the phenotype selection.
This heirloom strain from Indian Landrace Exchange produces an invigorating mental high, very energetic, with euphoric onset which can continue for two hours. The terpenes are floral, sour, spicy, incense and exotic sandalwood.
