Description
Durand #4 is a pure Indica landrace selection from Toba Achakzai in northwestern Balochistan, Pakistan. This compact plant distinguished itself through exceptional drought resilience in an environment where severe water scarcity put the surrounding population under intense pressure.
While many plants in the field dried out during the drought, Durand #4 continued to thrive. Its naturally compact, sturdy structure develops numerous dense flowers, making excellent use of its short stature. The flowers combine deep black and green colouring, creating a striking appearance as they mature.
The aroma is equally distinctive. Fresh rose notes mingle with sweet candy and bubblegum, producing an unusual floral-sweet terpene profile with plenty of character and a unique identity.
Durand #4 is especially interesting for outdoor growers working in hot, dry climates or locations where water availability can become a limiting factor. Its performance under severe drought conditions makes resilience one of the defining qualities of this selection.
The short size makes it a prime choice for stealthy container cultivation, such as on balconies and terraces, and for smaller grow tents.
For landrace collectors and breeders, Durand #4 combines exceptional drought tolerance, compact growth, dense flower production, dramatic black-and-green colouring and a distinctive rose-candy-bubblegum aroma. A tough and beautiful Pak/Afghan border Indica selected under demanding natural conditions.
