Double Dalai V2 regular seeds was developed from four distinct landrace lines with a clear, deliberate objective: to create a strain that delivers across every major trait and then exceeds expectations. This project was methodically designed and refined over a four-year period.

The work began within the Hindu Kush Andarab cultivar. The refined selection was then outcrossed to a Burmese (Mong Hsat) female distinguished by purple calyxes and green foliage.

The first cross, pairing a Hindu Kush F1 male with the Burmese female, produced a line known as Hash Force. From this population, selections moved away from the heavier Hindu Kush expression and toward stronger Burmese influence in both visual traits and effects. Once a consistent frequency of red calyxes and green leaf characteristics was achieved in the F2 generation, the breeding direction was maintained and the project advanced.

At the same time, a Neelam female was outcrossed to a closely related Chitral Valley variety. Here, selections were made away from typical Chitral characteristics and toward the green Neelam expression, valued for its strong impact.

After stabilizing and aligning these two separate lines around the desired traits, Hash Force F2 was crossed with Neelam x Chitral F3, resulting in Double Dalai. Neelam contributed compact bud structure, heavy resin production, and a shortened flowering time, while Hash Force delivered vivid coloration, floral incense aroma, and a deeply relaxing, dreamy effect.

Double Dalai debuted in 2022 through F1 selections and continued producing standout plants through the F5 generation, after which the line was retired.

Indian Landrace Exchange then revisited the concept with the intention of surpassing the original in every respect. Where Version 1 typically produced short, stocky plants with predominantly sedative effects, Version 2 emphasizes taller, more elongated females reminiscent of the Burmese lineage, while preserving a brief flowering window of 8-9 weeks.

The breeding direction continued toward a tropical-style expression without sacrificing the fast 56-63 day finish. This balance makes the line suitable for higher latitudes (up to 45°N) with early autumn snowfall as well as warm, humid tropical regions.

Early F1 selections of Version 2 showed enhanced leaf coloration, which became even more pronounced in the F2 population. Testing confirmed that approximately 70% expressed the signature Double Dalai phenotype: green leaves paired with purple to magenta buds. Even the hash extractions are purple-red! Smaller proportions of alternate purple expressions were intentionally preserved, honoring the full spectrum of its landrace roots.

By revisiting the F1 generation and repeating the selection cycle, the focus was placed on capturing exceptional vigour and standout aesthetics. Vigour here encompasses aromatic intensity, quality of effect, resilience against pests and disease, ease of cultivation, and higher yield. 

Double Dalai V2 produces highly vigorous plants that stretch 3-4x in size, and complete flowering in roughly 8 weeks. The result is a plant that grows like an equatorial variety yet finishes as quickly as a fast-flowering Afghan.

Its aromatic profile combines rich floral tones reminiscent of rose wine and wildflowers with sharper accents of solvent, pine, and warm spice. The effects are dreamy and uplifting, gradually unfolding in a rising progression that moves through the mind and body. It builds steadily before settling into a deeply elevating, immersive experience.

Germination info: ILE seeds must be planted directly in soil. A heating mat is beneficial during cooler months. The average germination time is 5-12 days. Do NOT throw away your soil if the seedlings don't appear after a few days!
