Description

Purple Chitral is a beautiful Indica landrace from Mastuj in Chitral, northern Pakistan, deep in the Hindu Kush mountains. This selected phenotype displays the extremely broad foliage associated with traditional Indica hashplants from the region, combined with compact growth, dense flowers and striking purple coloration.

Mastuj lies in the mountainous Chitral region of northern Pakistan, surrounded by the rugged terrain of the Hindu Kush. High elevations, cold nights, strong sunlight and pronounced seasonal temperature changes create demanding conditions for agriculture. Cannabis populations cultivated in these isolated valleys have developed within this distinctive mountain environment over generations.

Plants remain short, reaching no more than around 4 feet (120 cm). The structure is compact and distinctly pole-like, with a thick primary flower that stacks densely along the main stem. Exceptionally broad leaves develop dark coloration as the plant matures, creating a dramatic backdrop for its beautiful purple flowers.

Resin production reflects Purple Chitral's traditional hashplant heritage. The mature flowers develop abundant dry resin, a particularly interesting characteristic for growers and collectors exploring old Hindu Kush genetics traditionally associated with hash production.

The aroma adds another dimension to this unusual plant. Floral jasmine leads the profile together with a distinctive perfume-like fragrance, giving Purple Chitral an elegant aromatic character that complements its dark foliage and purple flowers.
