Description

Gulistan #4 is a selected Indica landrace from Gulistan in northern Balochistan, Pakistan, close to the Afghan border. Originating from large traditional field populations with Afghan Indica heritage, #4 was chosen by Sovereign Farmers from among the best-performing plants of the Gulistan population.

This selection grows tall with a beautiful Christmas-tree structure and numerous well-developed side branches. As the plant matures, partially dark purple colouring appears across the leaves, adding plenty of visual character to its strong, elegant form.

The aroma is one of Gulistan #4's most distinctive qualities. Sweet fruit leads the profile, followed by woody notes and an unusual artificial perfume-like character. The combination creates a rich, fragrant terpene profile that immediately stood out during selection in the field.

Gulistan lies at approximately 1,500 metres elevation in the rugged mountains and valleys of northern Balochistan. The climate is semi-arid, with dry conditions and considerable temperature fluctuations associated with the elevation and continental location. These demanding conditions form the native environment in which the Gulistan population has been cultivated and selected.

According to Sovereign Farmers, the extensive cannabis cultivation found around Gulistan is closely connected with Afghan farmers who settled in Balochistan and continued their traditional cannabis cultivation. The resulting populations carry Afghan Indica heritage while being cultivated on the Pakistani side of the border.

Gulistan #4 brings together tall, vigorous growth, extensive branching, attractive purple colouring and a particularly unusual sweet-fruity, woody and perfumed aroma.
