When we released our first R&D Superlicious Sativa edition in 2023, we mentioned projects with several elite Satori lines. One of these is an intense mother plant oozing with resin, named Satori BG because it smells like bubblegum.

Selected from our Satori BG line, the "pineapple" is a strong Sativa phenotype found in Satori since its earliest release. You'll notice it on a catalog photo we published about 15 years ago, with a fresh Satori bud propped against a big pineapple. How's that for bud size! 

If you've been fortunate to find the pineapple pheno in your Satori garden, you'll already know its very special with insane vigour (what we like to call the "immortality gene") and mega yield. Even the bud leaflets are covered with super-sticky resin, from the tip of the head bud to the flowering sites at the very bottom of the plant. Plenty of extra stash for oil extractions, although you can just nip off the leaf tips and vape the whole bud. 

This pheno earned its name because of the large girth of the main cola and "spiky" flowering columns of the buds, which reminded us of a pineapple. See for yourself in the new images we took from the mother plant used for this hybrid. Examples shown are under 400-600W HPS in a high quality soil mix, with one mild organic bloom feeding during mid-flowering.

The pollen donor is Mountain Gold (1st edition), from which a very dank male was chosen. This particular male is distinct from the one used in the previous R&D release and our current Superlicious Sativa edition. This gives each Mandala cross a unique genetic expression. 

Satori BG/Pineapple x Mountain Gold preserves the signature vigour of Mandala strains, as well as other outstanding characteristics such as nutrient efficiency in organic soil. Mountain Gold is a strain that benefits from regular fertilizing, which requires more plant care and expenses. So we are pleased that Satori has contributed her ease of care to this new hybrid. Growth in organic soil with minimal intervention is phenomenal. The pineapple mother plant also has very high mold resistance, just like the heirloom Mountain Gold strain.

Due to the vigour of the plants they only need 1 month of indoor vegetative time with soil cultivation. Under strong light and in hydroponics this can even be reduced a few days. Our typical light cycle is 20/4 since this speeds up growth, but you can also use a 18/6 schedule before switching to flowering.

We highly recommend growing under 400-600W HPS lamps, or at least 200-350W white LED. The lower range is sufficient for growth before upgrading for flowering. If you grow with LED, please keep your grow space at a cozy room temperature. Continuous cold slows down plant metabolism and nutrient uptake, which leads to suboptimal results. All Mandala strains are a breeze to grow and beginner friendly, by providing a good setup you'll support their maximum potential.

Germinating Seeds

Our organic cannabis seeds are fresh, ripened to perfection and handcrafted. Each batch is pre-tested for 100% germination. They can be easily germinated in seedling soil. In Europe the Compo Sana seedling mix is an excellent choice.

Don't use peat pellets or jiffy tabs because the acidic pH can inhibit germination. 

Soaking the seeds and other pre-germination methods are not recommended. We accept no responsibility for results if customers insist on germinating in paper tissues or soak their seeds in water.
