Description
Thai regular seeds from Ace Seeds is a traditional pure Sativa from Chiang Mai in Thailand's Golden Triangle. Newly reproduced 2021/22, the aim was to research and rescue expressions that encompass the best qualities and the most emblematic psychoactive effects of classic Thai Sativa's.
As an authentic pure tropical Sativa, the flowering of this Thai variety from Chiang Mai is long and ranges between 3-4 months. Buds develop in successive reflowerings and have very high resistance to humidity and botrytis. The calyxes and trichomes swell to enormous proportions upon final ripening. It's a landrace variety that remains green even at low temperatures, with individuals rarely showing any pigmentation in flowering.
In 10-15% of the population, you'll find more compact, robust and productive plants. These are faster maturing (3 months), with denser flowers and better adaptability for indoor cultivation. However, the most interesting terpenes and effects are found in the longest flowering plants (4 months) with more spiky floral structures.
Despite the (not always deserved) bad reputation of the Thai cannabis family in terms of hermaphroditic traits, this well-developed Thai variety from Ace Seeds is stable and hermaphrodite flowers are very rare.
For indoor growing, due to its extreme tropical Sativa genotype, Ace Seeds mostly recommends these regular seeds for extreme Sativa lovers or breeding projects. Its best to switch to flowering after 15 days from seed, or starting from clones rooted for at least 7 days. A 11-13 light cycle boosts bud development, avoids reflowerings, and excessive stretching in early flowering. Very suitable for SCROG, horizontal or network growing due to its excellent yield in the lateral branches and vigorous reaction to pruning. You can also reduce the photoperiod to 10/14 from the second half of flowering to enhance maturation. Highly recommended for SCROG, horizontal or network growing due to its excellent development in the lateral branches and its vigorous reaction to pruning.
This landrace requires a tropical/subtropical climate to reach its full potential. However, it can easily be grown between 20°-37°N in warm/coastal climates. The use of a greenhouse is very helpful for its correct ripening in non-tropical latitudes. Thai is a tall, slender and elegant Sativa, with pale and narrow leaves. The thin flexible stems can withstand the worst downpours and blizzards.Thai requires low levels of nutrients, especially of nitrogen. For outdoor growing, it’s best to mix a good base of organic soil, rich in guano and worm casting, and then place the plants in a sunny place and leave them to grow at their own rhythm, almost without using fertilisers or stimulators.
Three main terpene profiles can be identified in this variety. The first and most classic Thai is lemon, woody and spicy. In the second group are sweet, creamy and more refined floral and musky perfumes. And finally, a third group (around 5-10%) stands out for its intense strawberry aromas, which is unusual for a Thai variety.
The effects are very cerebral, with no tolerance limits and a very clean landing thanks to its quality tropical Sativa essence, high THC content, and zero CBD. If you search in depth, this Thai landrace offers all the effect profiles that we find in the Sativa's from this beautiful country: from positive, pleasant, friendly and revitalising effects (both physically and psychologically), to more euphoric and nervous effects, even psychedelic or more introspective.
Genetic analysis carried out on this Thai variety from Chiang Mai show a relatively common genotype (given the prevalence of this type of high quality Thai genetics in the development of some of the best modern hybrids), with extremely low genetic variability and direct kinship with other traditional Sativa's in Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries.

Package was shipped very discreetly. It took a few minutes to find the seeds. They arrived quickly, especially for a package shipped from another county. Decent germination rates with the Thai. Can't wait to order more seeds from mandala. Only complaint is that they close the store through the summer.
Can't complain one bit! My seeds came super fast. In less than two weeks!! Then I germinated half of them and got 27 healthy seedlings out 30 seeds. Pretty good considering the weather had turned unseasonably cold. So the first two weeks nights were in 30's & days were in the 50's so they were growing real slow ,then things warmed up a little and wow its been another two weeks and they are super healthy ( most of them grew about a foot ) two of the 27 turned out mutated one was Panama one was Zacatecas but the rest of the plants are so excellent looking it more than.makes up for it. Its a little early to say for sure, but from what I'm seeing so far it looks like Ace Seeds is putting out outstanding quality. I have Panama,Golden Tiger, Malawi,Thai, A-5 Haze, Thai× Panama, a strain from Blue Mountain seeds called Zacateca, plus my freebies Mandala #1. Their all extremely healthy. I can't wait to give harvest review!!
