Description
Mango Cake (Mojo Edition) brings a distinctly new-school flavour into the Mandala catalog. We absolutely love mango and have fond memories of the lush mango groves near our home in South India in the early 90s.
When Mango Cake came into our hands, the intense fruity character immediately caught our attention and we knew this was a must-have strain. We selected from these genetics to create our own feminized Mandala edition, adding some of today’s most sought-after tropical and dessert flavours to our collection.
The parent genetics combine Mango Taffie with Wedding Cake, pairing tropical fruit with the sweet, creamy character that has made dessert strains so popular. Mango Taffie descends from LA Affie and a Hawaiian heirloom strain, while Wedding Cake brings together Triangle Kush and Animal Mints. The result is a Sativa-dominant hybrid with an impressive family tree and a personality of its own.
The plants are vigorous and uncomplicated to grow, with good pest resistance and no tendency to be fussy. Thick, dark green leaves dominate the foliage, often contrasted by reddish stems. Resin production gets an early start in flowering and doesn't stop at the buds. Even the larger bud leaves become generously coated, giving you an early preview of what is coming later.
And later is quite a show! Mango Cake (Mojo Edition) produces large, rounded flowers that become buried beneath a thick coat of trichomes. As the plants mature, magenta and purple shades can deepen toward red, with orange pistils decorating the frosty flowers. By harvest, the buds can look almost sugar-coated. The photos speak for themselves: this is an exceptionally colourful, resinous plant.
Mango Cake is excellent for extractions. Even the rosin can show an unusual reddish shimmer, an exotic bonus and something fun to share when friends come around. Then there is the aroma. With reported terpene levels of 2.5-5%, Mango Cake doesn't make you work hard for great taste. The main terpene is terpinolene, followed by caryophyllene. Ripe mango and tropical fruit lead the way, sometimes with a citrusy edge, followed by sweet cake and a creamy richness. Crack open a cured bud and the name suddenly makes a lot of sense.
The high has enough energy to carry a productive day or a night out. It starts with a bright cerebral lift that can bring creativity, focus and a rush of positive energy. But it can also be something of a creeper, so be mindful of dosage since THC levels hover between 25-29%.
The potency makes Mango Cake (Mojo Edition) especially appealing to experienced smokers with a higher THC tolerance and those looking for a strain they can return to regularly. As the experience develops, a comfortable body relaxation moves in underneath without shutting down the lively headspace. Frosty purple buds, creamy mango, and an upbeat high with some real power behind it. Our Mojo Edition tastes like a tropical treat and leaves you floating in a very good place.
Germinating Seeds
Our organic cannabis seeds are fresh, ripened to perfection and handcrafted. Each batch is pre-tested for germination. They can be easily germinated in seedling soil. In Europe the Compo Sana seedling mix is an excellent choice. In North America some popular brands are Burpee Seed Starting Mix, Promix Organic Pro Seed Starting Mix and Fox Farm Light Warrior Seed Starter.
Please don't make it difficult for the seed embryo to pop out of its shell and invest in quality soil if you are growing organically. Some of the major problems we've seen in cannabis cultivation are peat pellets or jiffy tabs because the acidic pH can inhibit germination. Coco coir bricks and other "homemade bricks" can also cause low germination rates.
Soaking the seeds and other pre-germination methods are not recommended. We accept no responsibility for results if customers insist on germinating in paper tissues or soak their seeds in water.
WARNING: Do NOT lower the pH of your water with acids like "pH-Down" products containing nitrogen or phosphoric acid. These acids are so strong they corrode metals! Using pH-Down products on a regular basis can be fatal when growing in soil and KILL your seedlings. We use cheap vinegar since 35 years to lower pH, its non-toxic and completely harmless for plants. The correct water pH for soil cultivation is 6.2-6.5. Please consult our Water & pH Guide for more info.
