Himachal Heirloom Sativa from PuRa Seeds is a rare, semi-domesticated Himalayan cannabis strain, available exclusively through PuRa Seeds. Collected during our travels between 1991-1994 in a region famous for its aromatic hand-rubbed charas, we have carefully preserved the original qualities of this unique landrace ever since. 

This pure Sativa originates from Himachal Pradesh, growing at 32°N in high-altitude environments between 2300-2700 m (7545-8860 ft). The region’s highland subtropical climate (Classification: Cwb) features mild summers, cold winters, and a monsoon season. Annual temperatures fluctuate widely, ranging from 20-35°C (68-95°F) during the warm months of April to July. With the onset of the July-August monsoon, humidity levels peak at 75%.

Himachal Heirloom Sativa is a tall plant with long internodes, capable of reaching 2.5 meters (8 feet) in height when grown in containers outdoors or in a greenhouse. Pruning or starting seeds in early June can help manage its impressive height. 

These organic landrace cannabis seeds can be easily germinated in seedling soil. Soaking the seeds and other pre-germination methods are not recommended. Even at the seedling stage, this strain shows vigorous growth, yet it remains highly nutrient-efficient, thriving on low-to-moderate feeding. It efficiently utilizes every available nutrient in the soil. Our impression has been that this strain prefers growing in the ground with no restrictions on root growth. For container growing, larger pots are recommended to prevent early root-binding.

This strain has a subtle, low-odor profile, making it ideal for stealthy guerrilla cultivation. It can be grown in warm-temperate, Mediterranean, high-altitude, several northern areas, and in USDA zones 5-8. Growers in tropical regions such as Hawaii, Australia and Thailand may also find this an interesting Sativa to try out. The buds grow in an open structure along the internodes and shoot tips, offering excellent resistance to wind and heavy rain. Additionally, it shows high tolerance to mold and heat, with plants maturing by late September to early October. It hasn't been tested indoors yet, so we cannot provide specifics for artificial light. But if you'd like to try it indoor, we suggest starting under a 13-14 hour light cycle for growth and then 12 hours for flowering.
