Description
Limited Supply!
Black Mango is a Northern Thai landrace from seeds discovered during a fortunate strain hunt on Rai Saeng Arun mountain, in northern Chiang Rai province near the Myanmar border.
This variety reflects the rugged terrain of the region and stands out for its striking colours and exceptional fruity character. While not every plant turns fully purple, some develop very dark hues paired with extraordinarily intense mango sweetness.
Black Mango grows in a classic Christmas tree structure with limited branching and produces noticeably dense buds compared to other Northern Thai landraces. It adapts well to many environments but truly excels outdoors in warm, tropical climates. Highly resilient, it withstands heat, heavy rain, wind, and pests making it a reliable choice for challenging outdoor conditions.
The terpene profile is unmistakably tropical and sugary—like biting into a perfectly ripe, juicy mango. Sweet, fruity, and mouthwatering, the aroma is one of Black Mango’s most defining and memorable traits. The main terpenes are beta-myrcene, followed by limonene and alpha-pinene.
The smoke is exceptionally smooth and often described as irresistible, with users frequently reaching for it again and again over extended periods. Effects are highly cerebral, energetic, and uplifting, with almost no sedation. Black Mango delivers a clear-headed, vibrant experience that energizes the mind without weighing down the body.
About Prempavee
Prempavee is a mother and organic farmer from Isaan in northeastern Thailand. Her farm sits at the center of a region that, during the 1960s and 1970s, was once the largest source of what became known as Thai Stick. Contrary to common belief, Thai Stick is not a cannabis strain, but a traditional method of bundling cannabis flowers around thin sticks to make them easier to transport and conceal.
While Thai Sticks themselves have largely disappeared with the advent of modern preservation techniques, the original landrace genetics used to produce them remain alive. These varieties are carefully maintained by Prempavee and more than 2,000 other local farmers. The most widely cultivated landrace in the region is Hang Krarok (aka Hang Kra Rog), meaning “Squirrel Tail,” followed by Hang Suea (“Tiger Tail”), Foitong (“Golden String”), Black Mango, and others.
Prempavee belongs to long-standing farming collectives where entire villages have worked together to safeguard these genetics for generations. Their seeds come from open-pollinated fields, resulting in rich genetic diversity and a wide range of traits. Historically, these Thai landraces were prized by renowned breeders for enhancing terpene profiles, potency, and yields. Today, as legalization in Thailand has introduced many foreign varieties, these traditional Thai Sativa's are becoming increasingly scarce, making their preservation more important than ever.
