Description

Triple Star is an Indica landrace selection from the legendary Tirah Valley in the Hindu Kush, a traditional cannabis and hashish-producing region of northwestern Pakistan. Short, robust and exceptionally productive, this unusual hash plant gets its name from a distinctive growth pattern that spreads outward like a star.

The Tirah Valley lies at approximately 2,100 metres elevation in the rugged mountains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northern Pakistan. Steep slopes, deep valleys, considerable temperature fluctuations and geographical isolation have shaped agriculture throughout the region. Local farming communities have maintained traditional crops adapted to these demanding mountain conditions, including cannabis populations cultivated for hash production.

Tirah Valley genetics are particularly interesting for outdoor growers in cooler, humid climates. Sovereign Farmers identifies this region as one of their strongest sources for landraces adapted to high rainfall, high humidity and low flowering temperatures, with excellent natural resistance to mold.

Triple Star stays compact while producing an impressive number of flowering tops. Flowers stack generously across the branches and become dense and oily as they mature, giving Triple Star excellent yield potential despite its short stature. Its combination of compact height, sturdy growth and abundant bud sites makes especially efficient use of the available growing space.

The aroma has plenty of character. A distinctive hand-soap note leads the profile, joined by bright citrus and strong petroleum undertones. The combination is clean, sharp, funky and unusual, with the kind of terpene profile that makes traditional landrace selections so interesting for breeders.

By harvest, the star-shaped structure can be covered with countless resinous flower tops, making Triple Star a particularly attractive choice for growers looking for a compact Pakistani hashplant with high yields and plenty of resin.

The effect can be expected to combine a strong euphoric high with deep physical relaxation and a warm, heavy body stone. Tirah Valley hashplants can retain surprising mental clarity alongside their powerful body effect, creating an absorbing, long-lasting experience that may become increasingly sedative and couch-locking at higher doses.

For collectors and breeders, Triple Star brings together several valuable traits from the Tirah Valley gene pool: short stature, vigorous growth, prolific branching and flower production, oily resinous buds and an unusual citrus-soap-petroleum aroma. A fascinating old-school Hindu Kush Indica with a character all its own.

Sovereign Farmers says...

"One of the most striking aromatic traits we’ve encountered among the Hindu Kush populations of Pakistan is an unusually deep, spicy character.

Across the population from the Tirah Valley, growers have also reported expressions carrying aromas of black cardamom, cinnamon, star anise, clove and dried orange peel.

What makes it particularly interesting is the range within the population. Some lean heavily into this warm, sharp spice character, while others express it alongside deeper herbal and oily notes. We can sum this up in what is called South Asian cousin spicy 🌶️.

Among the populations we’ve worked with, the Tirah Valley material has stood out as particularly rich in aromatic expression.

The Hindu Kush has its own language of spice 🌶️ and citrus 🍊!"
