After carefully selecting the most robust, longest flowering, trichome-rich, and highly potent Lao Gold females and eliminating any hermaphrodites, the Pandora team needed to find suitable males. Since they were unable to find any Lao Gold males that possessed the desired characteristics, they turned to using Oldtimer's Haze instead.

Oldtimer's Haze is a famous heirloom variety obtained by UK breeder and collector Oldtimer1 in the 1970s from travelers who passed through his home on the hippie trail. Through genetic testing and phenotype appearance, it has been determined that Oldtimer's Haze is related to long-lost Colombian strains. Crossing these two varieties introduces new genetics into the mix, resulting in hybrid vigor and a more intense aroma with notes of incense, jasmine, pine, and metallic scents. Aphrodite's flowering time spans 16-18 weeks, and its distinct smell sets it apart from other known varieties.

The Lao Gold cultivar stems from southern Laos and has been recommend for those seeking to recreate the legendary 'Thai stick'. Its a relatively short Sativa with bigger, more compact buds than other Southeast Asian strains. This lends more weight to the otherwise wispy Oldtimer's Haze structure, making indoor/greenhouse cultivation of Aphrodite a rewarding choice for patient growers. Outdoors the plants can reach a height of 2 meters with long colas. A perfect strain for hot, humid, or tropical areas with a long season.
